For my new survey regarding dreams and health I have done a lot of research into all things determining if you have a good night sleep filled with dreaming. Almost all of us know that B vitamines (B6) are linked to dreaming and remembering them. But a lot of my patients suffer lack of vitamine D. Living in the Netherlands, below 52nd degree of the equator a lack of vitamine D is quite common. If you work in office all day, if you become older, the D level decreases.
Vitamine D is a summer vitamine: you are supposed to store it in the summer. It makes you sleep better dream more vivid and we store it for winter. So when your D level is low your body is going to store fat, thinking winter is comming. If your level is low, sleeping will be longer dreaming will be shorter and not so easily remembered.
Signs of low vitamine D can be depression, obesity, fatigue, asthma and a frequent soare throat. You should always prefer to get the vitamine from the natural source: go out in the morning, bare skin and walk in the sunshine. If you have to use supplements buy vitamine D3.
